NTSE 2020-2021 Stage-1
Stage -1 – Examination will be conducted by
respective States/UTs through the written examination. On the basis of stage 1
result or merit list which will be uploaded on the official website http://www.ncert.nic.in/ for NTSE result students eligible for the next level (stage
-2). Each state/Union Territory has an allotted quota for recommending a specific
number to select a student’s stage 2 examination.
Every year approx 8-9 lakhs of students will
appear for NTSE stage 1 from all over India. Out of 8-9 lakh students, roughly
4500 candidates were selected for the Stage 2 examinations. There will be
category-wise criteria for selection as will discuss below.
STAGE -1 Paper-Pattern
There will be two papers in the First stage,
It will be Mental Ability (MAT) and Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT).
In the Section of Mental Ability Test (MAT):
There will be 100 multiple choice type items, with four alternatives. Each item
will carry 1 mark.
In the section of Scholastic Aptitude Test
(SAT): There will be 3 sections, 40 Questions from Science, 40 Questions from
Social Science, and 20 Questions from Mathematics.
All the candidates are required to answer the
items on a separate OMR sheet as per instructions given in the test booklet and
on the OMR sheet.
Marking scheme
There is no negative
marking in both the level of NTSE examination.

After download your NTSE 2020-21 admit card, you should check all the mentioned details printed on NTSE 2021 Hall Ticket. In case of any mistake/discrepancy, it should be brought to the notice of the Liaison officer or to the office of the Chief Superintendent immediately.

NTSE
2022 Stage-2
Stage -2 – Examination will be conducted by NCERT. Stage 1 qualified or who came in merit they are eligible for stage 2. In this stage students selected from different states as per the respective State/UTs quota.
For example from the Rajasthan 485 numbers of students quota allotted, Gujarat 360 numbers students quota allotted and From Bihar 691 number of students quota allotted by NCERT. As per the selected or recommended students by the States/UTs will appear for the NTSE Stage 2.
Eligibility
- Students are eligible who are
studying in class 10
- Min.60% marks in 9
- 55 % Marks 9th Standard for SC, ST & Physically Challenged.
STAGE
-2 Paper-Pattern
There will be two papers in stage 2, It will be Mental Ability (MAT) and Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT).
In the Section of Mental Ability Test (MAT), there will be 100 multiple choice type questions that were to be attempted by all the candidates.
In the section of Scholastic Aptitude Test
(SAT), There will be 100 questions containing 25 multiple choice type questions
each on eight subject areas namely Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology,
History, Geography, Civics, and Economics. The candidates could choose any four
out of these eight subjects and had to answer a total of 100 questions in the
SAT.
Marking scheme
There will be no negative marking in both the examination.
Syllabus
Mental Ability Test (MAT) – MAT – In this part questions have to judge student's ability to think and evaluate his/her logical creativity and evaluate the power of reasoning. There are 100 questions that will be based on topics such as analogies, series patterns, coding, and decoding, etc. Each question 1 marks all the questions that need to be solved in 120 minutes.
Scholastic Ability Test (SAT) – This part has
been designed to check the academic knowledge of the students. There will be
questions from Science, Mathematics, and Social Science. This paper also has
100 questions of 100 marks to be solved in 120 minutes.

For professional courses
like Engineering, Medical, Management, and Law this assistance is given only up
to Post Graduation.

- 15 % for SC
- 7.5 % for ST
- 27% for OBC
- 4 % for Physically Challenged

Results
National Talent Search Examination (NTSE) Stage 1 Result 2021 has been declared by the respective state/Union territories. It will be declared between January and March 2022. Candidates have intimated by respective State/Union Territory. NTSE stage 1 result has been declared on the official website.
